It's almost Easter???

TW: trauma, oppression, anxiety, depression

I feel like typing that felt disrespectful. How are we almost 4 months into 2025?

Okay, let's back pedal. Because dwelling on the past has never done me any favors. For those of you who don't know, I am a huge supporter and advocate for therapy and finding a therapist/therapy style that works best for you. One of the things I've noticed with my most recent therapist is that, as people, we can experience anxiety if we dwell too much on the future and we experience nostalgia or even sadness if we dwell too much on the past.

So, heartbeats, let's focus on right now. Right now, I am more grateful than I've ever been but, I'm reflecting on my privilege in this world where so many are suffering and being forced into unthinkable circumstances. I want to be a person who sees and knows what's happening. If I can't physically change it, maybe I can change it with my heart.

I often wonder about people who are blissfully unaware of what's happening in the world. My feeds on all of my social media are full of people BEGGING for help so they can live. Seeing that for the past 2 years has been…all I can say is that in changes you.

My call to action today is to ask you to ask yourself how you're living life. Are you determined to only think about your own life experiences? Have you been intentionally or unintentionally blind to the shadows of this world?

We all have personal problems. We all have trauma. But we have to stand together to uplift the most vulnerable of us so that we can be uplifted. By healing, we heal ourselves.

Here's the tarot card for this week: Seven of Pentacles. From HowStuffWorks: this card represents the rewards of patience, perseverance, signaling a time to assess your progress. Now is the time to reflect, heartbeats. We must have patience with ourselves, but keep moving forward.

On the bottom of the deck, the Queen of Swords in reverse. This is major arcana. It represents a lack of empathy and repression. As I said, reflect on the ways that you're connecting with the rest of the world. Seeing the shadows can cause pain. Use that pain, transmute it into something productive.

I love you. Reach out if you need anything!!!

Love, Your Tonty.
